As Nigeria’s political landscape prepares for another fierce battle ahead of the 2027 presidential elections, fiery Lagos-based cleric Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele has made a bold revelation: Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will emerge as the consensus presidential candidate of the newly formed opposition coalition, which recently adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its official platform.
On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, the opposition coalition, featuring major political heavyweights including Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, formally unveiled the ADC as their joint platform to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. The unveiling ceremony held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja sparked national discourse, with many questioning who the coalition would present as its flagbearer.
Amid this uncertainty, Primate Ayodele, head of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, released what he described as a “divinely revealed message” regarding the coalition’s choice. In a video shared via his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the controversial prophet confidently declared:
“The coalition people are going to pick Atiku. Atiku is their candidate — not El-Rufai, not Amaechi, or whoever else. No. But there is a clause.”
Ayodele, known for his frequent political prophecies, warned that the coalition must tread carefully, hinting at a conditional outcome. He stated:
“It is not fully guaranteed that the ruling party [APC] can win. If they [the opposition] do not obey [my spiritual instructions], they can lose.”
ADC Coalition Gains Momentum:
The new coalition, spearheaded by leading figures from the PDP, Labour Party, and others, emerged after talks with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) failed. Atiku and Obi, both runners-up in the 2023 presidential election, have now pledged allegiance to the ADC coalition, describing it as a “rescue mission” for a country in crisis.
Political insiders say the decision to adopt the ADC followed months of closed-door meetings and failed internal negotiations across multiple platforms. With Atiku and Obi appearing to set aside past rivalries, the coalition is preparing for a long and calculated build-up to 2027.
Though the coalition’s official candidate has not been publicly confirmed, Ayodele’s prophecy has added a new layer of intrigue — especially with his firm rejection of other potential names like former ministers Rotimi Amaechi and Nasir El-Rufai.
While the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed the new opposition coalition as a gathering of “retired politicians,” the unveiling of ADC as a united front — combined with prophetic forecasts and mounting public dissatisfaction — signals a turbulent road ahead for President Tinubu.
Primate Ayodele’s latest message is clear: If the coalition stays aligned and heeded, the 2027 election could mark a historic turning point. But if ignored, the ruling party may yet retain its grip on power.
The countdown has begun — and the battle line is gradually being drawn.
