VDM Predicts Peter Obi’s Betrayal in ADC Coalition

Nigerian social media activist and controversial commentator, VeryDarkMan (VDM), has thrown a heavy jab at the newly formed ADC coalition, describing it as a selfish reunion of failed politicians. In a strongly-worded video, VDM warned that Peter Obi, a key figure in the alliance, may end up being betrayed and sidelined by the same political actors he once opposed — especially Atiku Abubakar.

In the viral video posted on Thursday, VDM didn’t mince words. He listed Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai, Rotimi Amaechi, David Mark, Rauf Aregbesola, and even Peter Obi himself as members of Nigeria’s political class responsible for the country’s current decay.

“All of them contributed to the mess we’re in today,”
VDM declared.
“The only reason they’re forming this coalition is because the current regime no favour them.”

According to him, the so-called coalition was less about national interest and more about political survival.

El-Rufai’s Role Sparks Suspicion

VDM referenced El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna, as an example of the opportunistic behaviour within the group.

“El-Rufai say Tinubu betray am, now e dey form alliance with Peter Obi. Wetin go happen when Obi no favour am again? Betrayal go follow,”
he warned, branding them all as “thieves in agbada” hiding behind reformist rhetoric.

Obi’s Position Under Scrutiny

While Peter Obi has long been seen as a symbol of integrity and hope, particularly among young Nigerians, VDM wasn’t convinced of his uniqueness in this new formation.

“Let’s see what they give Obi — vice president or nothing?
Atiku can’t be VP again, and I don’t think he’ll hand over to Obi,”
VDM said, predicting that the Labour Party candidate would be used for his popularity and then pushed aside.

He continued:

“If dem really care about Nigeria, dem for do better when dem hold power. Go check the states wey dem govern — na still poverty and confusion full there.”

VDM Calls the Coalition a “Recycled Failure”

In his usual blunt tone, VDM described the ADC alliance as “a recycled gathering of frustrated power seekers”, dismissing their promises of change as nothing but another political scam.

“This is not about Nigerians. This is about power. They are just changing the packaging, but it’s the same expired product inside,”
he said.

Mixed Reactions Online

Following the viral clip, reactions flooded social media. Some Nigerians applauded VDM for saying what many are afraid to voice, especially about the questionable motives behind the coalition.

Others, however, criticized him for disrespecting Peter Obi, who many still believe stands out as one of the few credible political leaders in Nigeria’s current landscape.

As 2027 draws near and the ADC coalition begins to take shape, VDM’s harsh take has stirred public debate: Is Peter Obi walking into another political trap? Will the coalition honour equity, or is it just a calculated chess move by the old guard to retain power?
One thing is clear — the road to 2027 will not be smooth, and Nigerians are watching with both hope and heavy skepticism.
