Iyabo Ojo Exposed by VDM for Betraying Mohbad

What began as a united cry for justice for the late singer Mohbad has spiraled into an ugly war of words. Activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) is now dragging Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo, accusing her of betrayal, manipulation, and emotional blackmail — after she reportedly dismissed the once-viral Justice for Mohbad campaign as mere “distraction.”

The streets of Instagram are on fire — again — and this time, it’s not about Naira Marley or Marlian records. It’s a full-blown clash between controversial social commentator Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), and Nollywood’s outspoken actress Iyabo Ojo.

The drama took a dramatic turn when VDM resurfaced with an explosive video — mocking and calling out Iyabo Ojo for describing the once trending #JusticeForMohbad movement as a “distraction” during a recent live session. Iyabo, who was among the loudest voices during the initial uproar following Mohbad’s death, is now being accused of doing a complete 180° turn.

In the viral video, VDM didn’t hold back. He laughed hysterically at Iyabo’s claims that she was now focused on “fighting for the people” over the country’s economic hardship — a statement he called “laughable.” He challenged her track record, saying, “I check your whole page, madam. Nothing dey. You no dey fight for anybody but yourself.”

Even more controversially, VDM accused Iyabo of promising to apologize to Naira Marley after their alleged police meeting — a promise he claims she has conveniently swept under the carpet. As “proof,” he posted screenshots from a supposed secret WhatsApp group chat where Iyabo allegedly made the commitment.

VDM then dragged her further, accusing her of trying to “emotionally blackmail” the public into seeing her as a victim — a move fans say is hypocritical considering how she aggressively attacked other Nollywood figures in the past, especially in the Baba Ijesha case.

Social media didn’t miss a beat. Many netizens stood solidly behind VDM, accusing Iyabo of double standards:

  • “So she spoil Baba Ijesha own finish, now she wan dey play pity card,” one user wrote.
  • “The same woman wey call Mohbad papa useless, now dey fight for the son? Na wa o,” another added.

Others simply called her out for trying to rewrite history while hiding behind a cause she once championed.

This ongoing war between VDM and Iyabo Ojo has opened old wounds and raised new questions: Was the justice campaign ever truly about Mohbad — or just another celebrity ego match? While VDM threatens to reveal even more chats and insider details, Iyabo Ojo has not responded further as of press time.

But one thing is clear — the fight for justice has now become a fight for reputation. And as fans demand answers, the truth may just be buried under layers of social media performances, deleted chats, and broken promises.
