“He Doesn’t Forget Receipts” – Portable Responds to Davido’s ‘Odogwu Bar’ Diss

Controversial street-hop artist, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has reignited his feud with Afrobeats superstar Davido after the latter appeared to shade him in a social media post. This latest exchange comes months after both singers clashed over what Portable described as “bad advice” during their now-infamous U.S. dinner.

It all began when Davido, responding to a troll on X (formerly Twitter) who mocked his family for repeatedly using the same private jet, tweeted:
“All these Odogwu Bar settings ”

While he didn’t mention names, the tweet was widely seen as a thinly-veiled jab at Portable’s “Odogwu Bar and Restaurant” in Ogun State.

Rather than respond with his usual firebrand outbursts, Portable took what many see as a more subtle approach—posting a throwback photo of himself and Davido during their 2023 dinner in Atlanta. The caption read:
“Zazuu zeh, ogo ni mi ni nu UK.”
Though cryptic, fans interpreted it as a reminder that the singer has kept receipts of their interaction.

The online tension follows a dramatic fallout earlier in the year when Portable publicly accused Davido of misleading him with poor career advice during that same dinner. According to Portable, Davido—who is signed to Sony Music—allegedly warned him not to sign with Sony and instead advised him to go with Empire Records and collect an advance payment.

Portable didn’t hold back at the time, declaring:
“The same Grammy Davido dey chase, I dey chase am too. But he wan mislead me.”

Angered by the public outburst, Davido unfollowed Portable on Instagram, escalating the feud. In retaliation, Portable accused Davido of snubbing him musically, suggesting that Wizkid would never treat him that way.

Since Davido’s ‘Odogwu Bar’ remark, social media has been buzzing with mixed reactions. While some fans feel the DMW boss was being petty, others believe Portable’s response was surprisingly measured—though loaded with undertones.
With tensions quietly simmering beneath the surface, it’s unclear whether this rift will escalate again or if both artists will let sleeping dogs lie. But one thing is certain: Portable, true to his nature, doesn’t forget who gave him advice—or who threw shade. And in the streets of Nigerian music, receipts are currency.
