Tinubu Arrives in Kaduna to Commission Major Projects

President Bola Tinubu touched down at Kaduna’s Military Airport in Mando on Thursday at 1:27 pm, marking the second leg of his three-state tour. He was greeted by a high-profile delegation including Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Governor Uba Sani, Emir Ahmed Bamalli, several governors, the SGF George Akume, and key military and state dignitaries.

Today’s Agenda Includes:

  • Institute of Skill Acquisition & Development, Riga‑Chukun—opening a center aimed at empowering local youth with vocational skills.
  • 300‑bed Specialist Hospital, at Millennium Square—bolstering Kaduna’s healthcare infrastructure.
  • 100 CNG buses commissioned for intra‑city commuting—part of the national push to use cleaner, cheaper gas-powered transit.
Later, the President will attend a grand reception at Murtala Square before heading to Nasarawa State in the coming days.

This visit follows Tinubu’s stop in Benue earlier today amid heightened security concerns—where recent attacks displaced hundreds and claimed around 200 lives. Accordingly, security has been heavily reinforced across Kaduna, with temporary traffic diversions in place on Kawo Bridge and Independence Way from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
