Victor Osimhen Rejects €40m Offer from Al Hilal, Insists on Staying in Europe

Super Eagles star striker, Victor Osimhen, has once again rejected a jaw-dropping offer from Saudi Arabian giants, Al Hilal, choosing instead to keep his European football dreams alive, even as several top clubs circle in anticipation of a potential summer transfer.

Al Hilal, one of Saudi Arabia’s biggest clubs and home to high-profile names, made Osimhen their No. 1 transfer priority ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The club recently hired former Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi, signaling serious intent to strengthen their squad with elite talent.

In a fresh attempt to lure the 26-year-old Nigerian striker, who is currently on holiday in Nigeria, Al Hilal tabled a staggering €120 million salary package spread across three years—equivalent to about €40 million annually.

However, despite the eye-watering figures, Osimhen flatly turned it down. According to French outlet Foot Mercato, the offer, while “impressive,” failed to sway the Napoli forward, who has “decided to reject Al Hilal’s offer and now wishes to take his time before choosing his next club.”

This latest rejection marks the third time Osimhen has snubbed the Saudi side’s approaches. Italian sports site Calciomercato reported that Al Hilal previously made offers of €30m, €35m, and more recently €45m annually—all of which were turned down.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Onyebuchi Onokala—a close source to Osimhen—confirmed the development, noting:

“Victor Osimhen officially turns down Saudi club Al Hilal’s offer. It’s the same offer they made last year.”

Onokala also hinted at a potential move within Europe, revealing that a top Italian club is “keen and ready to pay Victor what he wants,” while Turkish giants Galatasaray are “pushing heavy” to land the forward. The club, reportedly unfazed by Osimhen’s release clause, is desperate to secure his signature.

Osimhen had a blistering loan spell with Galatasaray in a previous season, racking up an astonishing 37 goals in 41 matches—a tally that made him one of Europe’s most lethal finishers.

As per Foot Mercato, Galatasaray have now tabled a fresh €26 million per year offer to entice him back.

Football transfer insider Fabrizio Romano also weighed in on the saga via X, reporting that despite Napoli and Al Hilal reaching a €75 million club-to-club agreement, Osimhen stood firm and declined the Saudi offer.

“Despite agreement between club to club with Napoli for €75m fee, Osimhen says no to the Saudi Pro League club. Galatasaray will insist on signing him with the race now open again,” Romano wrote.

Osimhen’s latest rejection of Saudi riches sends a clear message: the Nigerian forward is not for sale to the highest bidder, but rather to the club that aligns with his footballing ambitions. With his future still undecided, the transfer race remains wide open—and Europe is watching closely.
